I think STL should add a 2nd rd pick, but that’s a good trade for both sides IMO. Tampa can probably re-sign parayko in 2 years.

Palat, Gourde, and Johnson all have full NTC but you got rid of all three, seems pretty unlikely.

I think TB is banking on getting Sergachev signed for less than Parayko's cap hit so I don't see why they would do this.

One will be a CBO, the other two will be traded. A team like Edmonton for example that’s desperate for scorers could be interested. All 3 of those players would be arguably the 4th best forward on Edmonton

But they have full NTC's do you think it's likely that they waive those? Why would they want to leave TB?

Yup that’s the thing. I think it just depends the team, like for example, Playing alongside mcdavid in Edmonton in an elevated role could be intriguing

Also, not saying guys wont take discounts but Labanc was an idiot for what he did. He had a 56 pt season and signed a $1M contract. Now he had a 33 pt season, while being a -33.

He has yet to sign a new deal, but I guarantee he could have got more last year than he will now. He has lost a ton of money from that decision.

Oh 150% I agree with you on that one. That backfired. He was trying to be a “team player” and good for him, but now he’ll just get paid less on his next contract. Being a team guy costed him a lot of money and his team still sucks. That’s a tough one. At least with Petterson, Pittsburgh still put together A competitive roster, he had a good season, and he still got paid. It can work both ways.

If these guys are going to waive their NTC it's not going to be to a team where they are going to take a 1/3 pay cut. Need to try to trade them to a team not in Canada, California or New York. Vegas, St Louis and Colorado would be better options.

Why? Anderson stunk this year And palat would be a good winger for them. He’s good two way and is physical. Fits their style perfectly

What about a deal like Dunn for Sergachev? Dunn will probably make less on this deal but still is a good young top 4 guy without the ceiling of Sergachev. Or is it about needing a guy to play on the right?

Will this deal allow STL to keep Pietrangelo? I'd presume so, but please clarify.

The Palat trade I understand, but I think TBL could sell a little higher on him. As for Johnson and Gourde, which one gets traded, and for how much?

Yes St Louis could resign petro and have a balanced top 4 of:

      Sergy-Petro
      Dunn-Faulk

I’ll leave the Johnson / gourde trades up to the reader since every time I’ve posted one, people have just argued with me

      Hmmm...

      Winnipeg Jets
      Tyler Johnson

      Tampa Bay Lightning
      Mason Appleton
      2021 2nd round pick
      Conditional 2022 3rd round pick
Conditions: If Johnson scores 41 or more points this season, the 3rd is transferred.
