Why would we sign Greiss for only one year of use? Because if both he and Gibson were on the roster after next season, it's dollars to dandelions that Seattle would take him in the expansion draft.

No need to CBO Backes when he costs us only $2.5 million in real money. Switching Grant for Backes only saves us $.5 million -- and Derek deserves more money and more years.

I'm not fond of a plan that trades away two-thirds of both our third and fourth lines in exchange for Anthony De Angelo, who also costs us a first.

As far as the actual trade is concerned, I wouldn't want to pay any price higher than Sam Steel, Jacob Larsson and a 2021 second (not our 2020 second) for De Angelo. If that doesn't do the job, I'd pass.

I disagree about Drysdale. Huge overpayment on the NYR deal- agreed - but Drysdale is gonna be really really good, and top pair RHD are very scarce

I want nothing to do with Deangelo. He has had plenty of problems off the ice and there’s a reason after last season he only got 1 yr at 925k.
