Doughty was the best defenseman in the 2010 decade! 2 stanley cup, 1 Norris , 2 Gold Medal, he was dominant year after year. Maybe the past 2 years have not been great but considering how good he was earlier this decade he deserved to be there.

Right they're both Bolts are better but if you consider the entire 2010s, Rask (Cup even though he was a backup, 2 time finalist for the cup), Doughty (2 cups 1 norris), Chara (cup, 2 time finalist for the cup) and Letang (2 cup) have accomplished more than Vasilevksiy and Hedman

Vasi is not close 2 Rask for the Decade... Hedman isn't better than any of them if you look at the 10 years, Letang played almost 100 less games than Hedman scored more points and...well I think Letang also won a couple more cups than Hedman. Chara was a beat. +224 in the Decade, played 24 minutes for almost 800 games. I mean he didn't score as much as Hedman but like Letang he won a cup. Chara also had the best in ice GF% if those playing more than 400 games in the NHL on defense.

Toews gotta make it. I would take Perry > Kessel & Wheeler too.

The big problem with Perry have been that he was extremely dominant for the first half of that decade but almost invisible in the second one. But he remain in the discussion for sure.

Yeah he would have probably not have made mine too because of it. Past 4 season have been abyssal for him. I would have Carey Price, Pekka Rinne and Clearly Henrik Lundqvist ahead of Rask for that decade both of then
Had played more game, had more win and had win award with some decent playoffs success. My choice would probably be Lundqvist who had played in three conference final and a stanley cup final. He was pretty steady in that decade posting 30 win or more 7 time in that spend

Rask had best GAA and SV%..and second in shutouts...he has a ring, but he was backup...

Perry was more dominant & better goal scorer than Wheeler & more complete player than Kessel. If we’re looking only at this decade, he probably misses out but I’m taking peak Perry > Wheeler & Kessel.

I agree. Peak perry was better than peak Kessel, but Kessel was more consistent and had a longer prime in this decade.

Rick Nash was an absolute beast who played on terrible Columbus teams. Kessel didn’t exactly have a great supporting cast in Toronto but it was definitely better than what Nash had. Not to mention the physical aspect of Nash: a 6 foot 4 winger blazing down the the wing. He was a force. One of the most underrated players. I’ll take Nash prime all day over Kessel

I like Nash a lot also...although i started following hockey in like 2016 and hardcore 2018... So I don't know a whole lot about it but ... I liked Nash a lot

It’s a shame you never got to witness prime rick Nash. He was a force. I wish he got out of Columbus earlier

Tarasenko should definitely make it over Kessel, and probably over Wheeler, as well.

Yes I agree Rick Nash was a very unique & outstanding talent. A lot of people were unimpressed with him because he never achieved much but he was actually quite a complete player. Above average skater, great hands, he was good defensively, played physical & was willing to go into the dirty areas. The only thing he wasn’t so good at was playmaking which prevented him
From being a 100 point scorer despite getting 30-40 goals every season.

Maybe over wheeler but not Kessel.
