Dobson, Sandin, and Bouchard are not better than boqvist lmao

Boqvist is elite offensively but he’s terrible defensively. Dobson is the best 1 v 1 defender from this draft and he drives play offensively, while not as dynamic as Boqvist. Dobson’s underlying numbers were better than Boqvist this season.

Dobson has better underlying numbers because he plays on the Isles and their system that is like saying Ben Hutton is better than John Carlson. Advanced stats dont mean jack in the end they are still easily skewed by a team's system, strength of the team, player role, and so on.

Player for player there isnt anything Dobson is better at than Boqvist

That is false. Using barry trotz system is a terrible argument. The isles current top pairing defenseman had similar underlying numbers before trotz became HC, the reason why the isles GA decreased is because of a full buy in to team defense.

Dobson has better 4 way mobility than boqvist , his defensive positioning and instincts are better than boqvist and it’s not even close. This was evident even before they both turned pro and is noted by many scouts. Dobson has no weaknesses in his game , the only thing boqvist has over Dobson is his offensive ability and shot.
