Buff to the rescue

Description
Would Byfuglien want to play in Canada again? Would he take a 1 year deal to try to put a good young roster over the top?

With the addition of Buff, Tryamkin and a hopefully healthy Ferland there's some added size and grit to a talented young squad, plus lots of cap room for 2021 to give the kids raises.

By the time he is even aloud to play an actual game, it would be over a year and a half since he last touched the ice. He is not your average hockey player. Big Buff headed out on his own terms just like the way he played the game. So to answer your question if he would sign, that's a pretty generous offer for someone who just really isn't in it anymore. He's going to ride off into the sunset now, he has nothing left to prove, especially with his health concerns on that big body of his

Whatever team decided to take a shot at Buff, it's going to be a long way back, and who knows that his heart is still with this game anymore, and that's only my perception from how he handled things with the Jets. Would he return to a Canadian team, I think so. Would a competitive team really be willing to pay him that kind of money though? I think there will be a couple at least. Should the Canucks? They play a fast game. Even on the best of days with a healthy Buff, he's not a very fast player and I am sure he's lost quite a bit of foot speed. Sure, he has a great shot, plays means, hits, but if you can't keep up with your team's game, how valuable then are you to them? That's the question any team that is thinking of signing him will have to ask themselves.

Good points. My thinking was that he would obviously need to decide that he still had the desire to compete and would train to do so before the Canucks or any team took a chance on him. And for me the cap hit isn't really an issue as long as it's only a one year deal.

Even with a clean bill of health, even with training, and even with a desire to play and win, is he a fit for this team or any team? There are certainly teams that play a style in which he could ideally fit. The Islanders and Vegas come to mind, but would the Canucks? I am honestly not sure based on how they play.
