no team is gonna take Gourd's contract unless you pay. I really don't see Johnson waiving his NTC. Cernak and Cirelli is probably gonna get more. Maybe an offer sheet

Johnson, Coburn and Gourde aren't waiving. And Cirelli gets more then $4 million per.

Another example of how giving huge goalie contracts ruins a team.

Johnson is moveable. TB works out a trade and asks if he'll waive. If he declines he's put on waivers. Det, Ott, even Buff have enough cap space to claim him for free.

Cernak probably takes more on a 2 year deal. Cirelli takes that on a two year deal. Sergachev gets that on a 3 year deal.

Real questionable if anyone would take Johnson at 5m X 4. He's being declining every year. Last 2019/20 pro rated over 82 games....37 points. He's 30 this summer. Sure some team could claim but why? Better value to spend 5m

Both Gourde and Johnson are 2nd line players. Johnson is a center as well. They got stuck in the bottom six and both averaging 14 minutes a night on the 3rd and 4th lines. Put them on the 2nd line getting 18-20 minutes and they are both 50 point players. Look at Miller, he was stuck on the third and fourth lines in Tampa last year at 14 minutes a game and I think ended with 35 points. Now he is a PPG player in Vancouver. Not saying gourde or Johnson could replicate PPG but I laugh at everyone who says these guys have no value. Now how tampa gets around the cap crunch thats another discussion all together.

I think Vasy's contract is too big but I understand why they did it. as the biggest difference between him and all the other large goalie contracts is he is 26 years old and the contract is structured that they get his prime years and he his is moveable if needed when he is only 30. All the other large goalie contracts they were already 30. Definitely the contract affects them though for sure.

          Gourde would be a CBO
Johnson will waived to a team like Calgary
rearrange Sergachev, Cernak, and Cirelli contracts and they all will be happy with what they are getting
TF is he signing Rutta that

If Tampa wants to compete with any OS Cirelli is likely to get they're gonna have to pony up at least $5.8M. For all the talk about FLA being a no tax state, all it would take for a high tax state state to compete is $6.4M, a 2021 1st and 3rd.
