I took back the Eakin Trade and traded for a Defenceman in Martinez.
In 2015, They would use the pick for Roslovic to select a Finnish Center in Aho and the 2nd rounder used on Harkins to pick up Dunn as a defenceman

I mean now I get your idea but at the time, Roslovic was projected to be better which is why he was selected.

Those 2015 changes probably change the fact you get laine though. Interesting idea amazing how one pick or deal can change a trajectory of a franchise instantly or over some time I. Some dramatic ways

I couldn’t pull it off, but do you think you could go back right to the scheifele pick and see some interesting changes over the years with a few changes, here or there. Even a Hamilton or coutiere over scheifele and then a trade back in to still get scheifele, could be a rather interesting team at this point. Only question would be the change in pick numbers year to year with your pick changes the win totals would be effected.

It wouldn’t change the 2016 draft since none of those players played in 15-16, but it definitely changes after that. Expansion draft, 2017 draft, the 17-18 season, Statsny trade, all of that would change.

I wonder if there would have been an attempt to trade up for poolparty to complete the line, I was hoping for a Tkachuk trade up that year.

Take a look at 2016. The deal that sends pick #22 and pick #36 to Philly for pick #18 (Logan Stanley) and pick #79 (Luke Green). Had they not made that deal, regardless of who they take at #22 (maybe Stanley is still there but there are better options!!), that #36 pick could have brought the Jets; Carter Hart, Filip Hronek, Adam Fox, Alex DeBrincat, Sam Girard among others ... Worst trade in team history! Jets scouts whiffed 2016. Laine was good fortune. Maybe Berdin has a shot.
