DUCKS DON'T NEED A YOUNGER CHEAPER VERSION OF SILFVERBERG, OR ANY OTHER MIDDLE 6/SECOND LINE PLAYERS. THEY NEED RD AND HIGH END FORWARDS, KAP IS NEITHER OF THOSE (and that first likely could end up being Niemela Grans or maybe Villeneuve)

pls calm down tears of joy but I agree with your sentiment, and at the current moment Silf>Kap offensively yeah they are close but Silf has a much better 200 foot game

I've been getting into enough arguments tonight about various other stuff, plus the amount of times I've had to tell people that the ducks don't need middle 6 forwards just boiled over into that one post 😂😂

@AFOX10900 don't feel bad I broke earlier. I just don't care at this point. That said its funny when you see leaf fans do this or either act like victims.

I see CECI and i say hell no no NO that guy is probs gonna be the 7th defenseman on some other team not ours. Dubas knows fans will destroy him if he resigns that guy. Also kapenan for a 1st could be intriguing. can use the first to trade for a top 4 RD. But would Anaheim overpay for him

My feeling is you are underselling Kapanen and overselling Silfverberg, especially dollar for dollar, likely because a 1st pick is involved, even if that pick will be one away from a 2nd. There are a couple of Leafs who are iffy game in and game out defensively. Kapanen is not one of them. My feeling is you looked at THN scouting reports (notoriously 3 to 4 years out of date in their analysis) looked at the stats from this year alone when Kapanen was in the first year of a new fare more lucrative deal (90% of players underperform in the 1st year of a new deal that gives them a significant raise regardless of sport) without actually doing a deep dive into the player.

All things being equal I'd rather keep both Kapanen and Johnsson, but things aren't equal. This is a salary cap trade for the Leafs.

Not altogether convinced Dubas gives a rats a** what anyone really thinks. And the Leafs missed Ceci a lot when he was injured, especially on the PK. The Toronto media has succeeded in putting up a false narrative (like Zaitsev, and countless others before him) about Ceci because they must have a sacrificial lamb . It's a bunch of crap churned out to ferment outrage amongst the fan base and feed the click machine.

I'd take Kap any day over Silf... I just didn't care enough to say that earlier... We don't need Silf long term either...
