We’ve had John Moore and let him go before. No way he’s coming back with that contract or for a pick for that matter. He’s a CBO candidate or someone you’d have to add a sweetener to deal away

I just picked a random team. They would be able to get a 3rd for him from someone who needs some depth defence. He is good. Just Boston is too deep.

Detroit passes they are rebuilding and won't give up a 3rd for Kuhlman. Who hasn't been the same since he broke his leg.

a 3rd....eh maybe a 4th or 5th given what defense men have gone for recently.
I don't see him getting more than say what Gudbranson got.

But they could move him.

That Hoffman contract. If you want him that bad, you'll get him.
All I know is I'm not giving a guy who's already 30 a 5 year 6 million deal.
You can have him at that price.

Moore is worth a 4th, not a third. (believe me, i used to say a third, but i have been corrected, however dont listen to the jerks tryna say hes only worth like a 5th)
Kuhlman is worth a 2nd not a 3rd
Overall, good deals (a little light on Griz)

Not half bad! but yeah the trades are a little off

If detroit passes on giving up a 3rd for a solid middle 6 player with good top 6 potential, they are mad. He also hasnt looked bad since breaking his leg. He has bee back for like maybe a week or two (5, 6 games), and was starting to look good again.

He's struggled to make as a bottom 6 forward I'm sorry he isn't worth a 3rd rd pick in this years draft. When the season stoped he was in the AHL and had been there for over a month. My pick to win the cup this season is/was Boston. I have no idea what the NHL is going to do but if they have the playoffs with the current rosters I'm still picking Boston. Let's say that is the case so Detroit's 3rd round pick is the very next pick after Bostons 2nd rd pick. Would you trade Bostons 2nd for Taro Hirose? It's crazy how a like they are.

Part of the reason he was in the AHL was because he was coming off injury....he also was waiver exempt, unlike most of the roster. I don't think a 3rd is far off. Being DET pick would be early 3rd, Boston probably has to add a little extra (maybe a 4th). Kuhlman imo probably winds up a 3rd line winger that can put up 10-15 goal and 15-20 assist.

No, at this point Hirose is looking slightly lower value than Kuhlman, but more importantly, Bruins arent going for young guns, and they dont take that trade anyway.
Now if you said Hirose to some other team for a mid-3rd, of course! Just like Kulhman, for an early 3rd is a good deal.
But more importantly, if YOU dont think he is worth that much, you are entitled to that opinion! But DO NOT say that he isnt worth as much because he broke his leg, thats just an excuse.

Before the injury he had played 11 games and had 5 points for .46 points a game. After the injury he has played 25 games and has 6 points for .24 points a game. So his production has almost been cut in half. SO YEAH HIS PLAY HAS BEEN WORSE AFTER THE INJURY! Hirose is a year younger and has more points in the same amount of games I'd take Hirose easily over Kuhlman. But no one is going to give up a 3rd for either of them.

He has played in 25 games this season. So wrong already.
8 were in october - he had 0 points
Injury
17 were in January and February where he had 6 points

Im guessing you have never been injured before? Its not a fun recovery. He is fine, and IN FACT not worse than before his injury.

As far as what you thought was "before injury", that was last season, 5 point in 11 games, and then he played some of the playoffs,. He is still a rookie. He is fine.

Please do the proper reseaerch before coming here to comment

Ok I was wrong and I'm sorry about that. Yes I've been injured and if he wasn't ready the team would not let him play and shaking off the cobwebs only really applies for a couple of weeks. Try tearing an ACL and being out for close to a year instead of a couple of months. He will be 25 before the start of the next season and 11 points in 36 games isn't going to get you a 3rd round pick.

Sure! I mean Kaapo Kakko (with 23 points in 66 games so nearly the same PPG) and Jack Hughes (with 21 points in 61 games) are both also worth less than a 3rd!
Oh wait, thats not true.
Potential still matters: So let me lay this our better so you understand trade value:
Value is based on Age, career, etc... If a player is developing late, they still have room to grow. So a few examples

A 32 Year old in his 12th NHL season with 11 points in 36 games - a 6th rounder at best (good depth guy, not much time left)
A 29 Year old in his 9th NHL season with 11 points in 36 games - a 5th rounder (good depth, some time left)
A 29 Year old in his 6th NHL season with 11 points in 36 games - a 5th rounder (good depth, some time left developed late)
A 26 Year old in his 6th NHL season with 11 points in 36 games - a 4th rounder (good depth, in his prime)
A 26 Year old in his 3th NHL season with 11 points in 36 games - a 3th rounder (good depth, in his prime, late devleoper so could get even better)
A 24 Year old in his 4th NHL season with 11 points in 36 games - a 3th rounder (good depth, entering his prime)
A 24 Year old in his 1st full NHL season with 11 points in 36 games - a 3rd rounder (middle 6 player with room to grow)

And then for the sake of it:
The same damn player thats 20 years old and a rookie: 1st round pick (if it is Kakko or Hughes)

Just think about value, please

Kuhlman will be 25 at the start of next season and he has still not earned a full time spot the odds aren't in his favor.

Your value chart:

Is it recognized by the league?

Is it approved by all 31 NHL Teams?

Is the data used to compile it 100% objective?

You aren't going to convince me he is worth the first pick of the 3rd round. So when Boston trades him for one of the first 5 picks of the 3rd you can tell me how right were and I will give you props.

Well they arent trading him, more likely ..., But yeah when there is a similar trade, I will let you know!

Obviously thats my take, but it seems fairly accurate considering recent trades
