I'm pretty sure no one wants Rinne after his abysmal season.

At $3M after retention, with only one year left, there are worse gambles. Maybe this extended shutdown is what he needs to rest his body, and refocus his mental game for next season. If I were a GM with a young, not totally proven starter, I'd be interested in Rinne as a mentor/backup for him. I don't think the Sabres are the right fit, because they still have Hutton for another year, but the Flyers or Canucks are examples of teams that might be. I have no idea what fair value for Rinne is right now.

It's all academic anyway. Rinne's got a NMC, and there's next to no chance he asks for a trade. He'll retire a Pred.

Why are you giving up assets in the Van trade and then not even signing Boucher? That's a bad trade either way - completely unnecessary.

And Rinne retires a Predator, he won't be traded.

If Granlund and Smith resign at that term/value, I'm all for it. The trades are awful and add no value to the team.

Rinne I'm sure will retire a Pred, but I do think BUF is a good fit actually. Hutton was so bad for us that there's a real chance he gets his last year bought out... it wouldn't cost much. Only having 1 year left on the Rinne contract is enticing. Not sure I'd give up two 2nd's for him but I like the idea. Buffalo needs a goalie change badly

he probably retire a pred but if he had to be traded, and that sabres had a good season, rinne could be interesting for them

they will sign at that price and dudes the trades are very fair, we get good picks for Rinne and we trade carr who is a top player in the ahl and voucher who is the same but better

its a trade to let other players have a chance to play in the nhl, y swapping them it both gives them new opportunities,

Nashville has already tried Boucher before and he didn't stick - they won't trade for him and definitely not a player + pick

I never said the trades weren't fair. I said they don't add value to the team, very different.

Since we're now talking "fair trades," you believe a 4th round pick helps balance out the trade between two mid-20's AHL all stars? Boucher already came to Nashville, scored 1 goal in 3 games, but I guess that's a 4th round pick more impressive than Carr's 1 goal in 11 games. This trade does nothing to help the NHL roster short or long term, and therefore, adds no value.

Trading Rinne is a slap in the face to everything he's done for the franchise on and off the ice, especially for another borderline AHL guy and a couple of picks. I realize he's had a sharp decline this year, but he's only got 1 year left, and the mentorship to Saros is another factor to be considered. This trade does nothing to help the NHL roster short or long term, and therefore, adds no value.

first off, te carr/Boucher trade is to spark up their game and by trading them, maybe they can prove that hey can play in the, it gives them another chance, the reason why I added a 4th rounder is that Boucher had a better season than carr did. as for urine, they might trade him but I believe that saros is ready to play as a number one goalie.

Whatever you say bud. You clearly don't know much about this team.
