Did Dubas overpay Mitch, yes....but in many people's eyes Matthews got overpaid too, so did Nylander, Kapanen, Johnsson, Holl, Kerfoot and Muzzin. If Dubas had squeezed 1/4 to 1 million per contract out of each player, that'll give the Leafs another 4 million to play with.

Marner will never be traded and he and Rielly are the heart of the Leafs.

Only Marner and Matthews are overpaid by over a million.

Muzzin took a discount so he could be near home. If you look at similar players he would have went for 6.5M on the open market, he's a top pairing D man (if he was a right shot the Leafs D core would be set.

How is Kapanen overpaid. He took a discount... His qualifying offer is 800k... If he is overpaid why do so many teams want him but not Marner?

Johnsson got what he is worth when he signed the contract... he just got injured a lot this season bringing his value down.

Kerfoot got overpaid maybe 200k but they just traded for him.

Matthews got overpaid 1 million.

Marner got overpaid 1.5 million.

No I'm not the same person as @MitchMarnerElite a lot of people think Marner is overpaid.

Marner is overpaid. I would argue by at least 1.5 million for what he contributes, possibly more.

PS.... That right side D core that you have here is terrible. If it stays the same, expect the same piss poor results. Two bottom paring guys and an NHL'er. Nothing to be excited about there at all.
