Description
Did my best, Lou has a sticky situation in front of him with lots of money tied up to insignificant players.

- Figured to let Leddy over Boychuck considering he still holds good value. Getting back Mete as a young, cheaper option back is solid. Added a 2nd on the MTL side but not really sure about the value. Adding Leddy to the top 4 in Montreal really changes the look of their D.

-I assumed Dobson could use some time in to play good minutes in Bridgeport, if NYI fans think he's ready then bring him up.
-Cizikas and Hickey are cleared out for picks.

- This is definitely a gamble for both sides. It's clear Lou has no intention for Josh Ho-Sang which is unfortunate. EDM needs some cheap potential top 6 options, maybe reunite him and McDavid from their minor hockey days. Get Chiasson who's only signed for a year at a cheaper price than Komarov who's signed for 2 more. I think EDM has had enough of Chiasson and I think putting a feisty guy like Komarov in their bottom 6 could be beneficial for them. This all depends if they think Ho-Sang can contribute, because they'll save money for an offensive forward to go with him for under $1M, which would go to the remainder of the Komarov contract.

Like so many posts, here is another example. Trading away high cap players and receiving no or less cap in return. So many teams just don't have the cap to take on these unwanted players.

Edmonton isn't making that trade, Chiasson has been pretty decent for them for what he's getting paid, he's having a more productive season then Komarov is, he's cheaper and has one less year on his contract compared to Komarov, the Oilers are tight up against the cap too so they're not making that deal and
Ho-Sang isn't enough of an incentive to interest them in a Chiasson for Komarov swap.

You don't really think a 24-year-old mediocre AHLer is going to get cherry minutes on McDavid's wing, do you? Or have any value in a trade?

True but wouldn't the Habs be one of the teams that would have the cap space and could maybe use Leddy, picking up Leddy might interfere with Bergevin's Barzal offersheet plan though.. Lol

If I'm the Habs (or one of few teams) that have cap, I would drive a harder bargain than Mete and 2nd for Leddy. Isles need cap space? Just give us Leddy, heck the Isles might have thrown a sweetener. Other teams are going to offloading players so they can sign their more important players and their RFA. I don't think Barzal is in Bergevin's plans, I think it more a CapFriendly rumour.

There are a number of teams that Leddy could be a fit for (Detroit, Florida, LA). He should be an easy move in the offseason.

Agree EDM says no. Isles are stuck with Leo, although Ho-Sang could still end up in EDM.

Casey is not being moved, he is an important piece to the Isles.

Signing Howard makes no sense, Sorokin will be on the team next year.

If there is a CBO this off-season it will be used on Ladd.

If there is a team that does not need to use their CBO, Isles will trade Boychuck + 2nd or Aho.

I would also like to move Bailey if a team has interest.

20-21 Lineup

Bellow- Barzal-Eberle
Lee-Nelson-Wahlstrom
Beau- Pageau- TBD
Leo/ Johnston- Czizkas- Clutterbuck

Pulock- Pelech
Mayifled- Toews
Dobson- Greene

Varlamov
Sorokin

Yeah I agree, teams with cap space and holes to fill could improve their teams quickly and without giving up major assets to do so. Could see that being a good plan for Detroit, lots of cap space and need to start pulling out of the rebuild, could pick up a decent dman without giving up a major asset which would also give a cushion for some prospects to develop and not be rushed.

Yeah I was mostly kidding about the Barzal offersheet but ya never know what Bergi has cookin up.. 😃

leddy is a 29 YO useful LD2 making 5.5 mill for the next 2 years. There are teams that will be interested in trading for him but hell return a 2nd or 3rd at the most
