Description
Say worst case scenario, for the NHL!!! the cap doesn't go up at all this summer, no CBO is awarded, and the following year with a new TV deal and the Seattle money coming in, there's only a small cap increase (3.5 mil) to make up for revenue lost to Corona or smth (oh and Dougie and Svech both get massive raises)

Plus there's so many players that can be moved, particularly on defense, there's like 9 NHL ready guys... Skjei and Gards can both go and the team likely won't notice much... Same with Staal and Trocheck... If you don't think the prospects I chose to fill in are ready, just pick another from LTIR... There's plenty, this team has done such a good job drafting, they're one of the deepest organizations in the league

Now can we PLEASE stop all the obnoxious Dougie trades (yeah ik this won't stop them... Worth a shot tho...)

Also don't worry about the team not spending money... Dundon has plenty... See Aho OS, the AAF (and yes, the team came out and said he/they are paying their employees as of a few days ago)

I'm not getting the concern here. The Hurricanes are perfectly fine. Very well run and a lot of good contracts. Who's worried?

I've seen so many people saying Dougie is gone or they should trade Dougie or they probably can't keep Dougie... It pissed me off and I wanted to prove them wrong lol

Yeah, it doesn't make that much sense to me lol. Unless they can't work out an extension AND Carolina is well out of a playoff spot come next deadline (which I don't see happening), then there is no reason to trade him.

Yeah, I'd agree in that scenario, but as you said, very unlikely

I'm waiting for the deluge of people who don't read the Team Explanation and don't get the point of this exercise and will hurry to say that you're crazy if you think Svechnikov or Hamilton is getting $12 million . . .

"Say worst case scenario, the cap doesn't go up at all this summer." Gee, think that is the worse case scenario? Hundreds of thousands, maybe millions die in the US alone. Excellent chance there is no professional sports having a 2020/21 seasons. All colleges and little league sports are cancelled. Millions lose jobs, schools, factories close. And the worse case scenario is that the cap doesn't go upHuh?

Holy negativity... Ever tried this thing called optimism... That's your first though when you see anything Corona related... Plus strictly for the NHL (teams at least) that probably is worst case scenario, if every pro sport loses next season, there's a good chance every contract just gets pushed back a year, and then they come in and play a full season with the new TV deal and probably still Seattle money before Dougie's contract is up, WHICH WAS THE POINT OF THE POST, NOT THIS CORONA SH*T, I THOUGHT THIS WAS THE ONE THING I COULD DO WITHOUT THAT GETTING RAMMED DOWN MY THROAT 24/7
