Kapanen + Dermott for Manson I believe is fair value. If the Leafs end up signing Barabanov, it makes Kap expendable since he plays on the RW. Dermott gives the Ducks a mobile defenceman that can play both sides. Kerfoot for Steel (and pick); Steel needs a fresh start. Former late first rounder has not played to potential yet and Kerfoot gives the Ducks a solid 3C to play behind Getzlaf and Henrique. Anaheim has a lot of C prospects; Morand for Duszak is just and organizational swap. Since Barabanov is 26 he doesn't qualify for an ELC, he can negotiate his own contact. My guess if they do sign him it will be loaded with bonuses and a small cap hit. I am mixed on if the Leafs should bring back Clifford. I like the toughness and playoff experience he brings but not at the expense of our 2nd round pick. If Robertson is actually ready next year I'd rather have him play 3rd line LW and move Engvall to the 4th line. I love the idea of Spezza and Thornton splitting time for the 4th C. Thoughts? Is the contract signing of DeMelo too low?
