You're not getting Marner without Chabot heading the other way. This as sure as hell doesn't cut it.

I don’t see how this a bad trade for the leafs. They are getting a top 4 RHD who plays a strong 2 way game, a top pick & one of the best defensive forwards in the league.

Agree Chabot is a legit #1 defenseman on a great contract.

How is Lassi a top four defensman? He has yet to play a single minute in the NHL. Just because he was drafted 19th in round one does not make him a legitimate top four defensman. Jesus Murphy.... Liljegren was drafted two spots higher.... where is he at present?

The bottom line is that this package is not even close to good enough for Marner. AND.... you expect the Leafs to retain salary too?

Having Thomson, Liljegren & Holl will solidify the right side for Toronto. Brown is second in the NHL amongst for fewest expected goals against per 60.

And signed longer, that'd be a big factor for me, Chabot is locked down for three seasons longer then Marner.
