Marner

Créé par: AnalyticsGeek
Équipe: 2020-21 Sénateurs d'Ottawa
Date de création initiale: 31 mars 2020
Publié: 1 avr. 2020
Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
This trade was suggested to me by @csick, so it’s not my original idea. Personally, I think it’s quite an overpay for Marner & I’m not sure if Ottawa is in a spot to give up assets for him, but he is a young forward that could become part of the core.

I don’t see how this a bad trade for the leafs. They are getting a top 4 RHD who plays a strong 2 way game, a top pick & one of the best defensive forwards in the league.

How is Lassi a top four defensman? He has yet to play a single minute in the NHL. Just because he was drafted 19th in round one does not make him a legitimate top four defensman. Jesus Murphy.... Liljegren was drafted two spots higher.... where is he at present?

A TOP PICK???? That Islander pick is currently sitting 21st overall. Hardly a "top pick" by any stretch.

"One of the best defensive forwards in the game"? Are we talking about Connor Brown here? C'mon man. Rode that bus once... how'd it turn out?

The bottom line is that this package is not even close to good enough for Marner. AND.... you expect the Leafs to retain salary too?

If Dubas ever made a trade like this he should be fired on the spot for cause!

Epic fail IMO. 100% Pass!!!!

Don't listen to this guy when it comes to any Marner trade. He's either trolling or just super ignorant.

I find it hard to resist attacking stupidity straight on. Especially when someone tries to justify its legitimacy with false data. One more for the ignore list.

Having Thomson, Liljegren & Holl will solidify the right side for Toronto. Brown is second in the NHL amongst for fewest expected goals against per 60.

And signed longer, that'd be a big factor for me, Chabot is locked down for three seasons longer then Marner.

What a joke. Thomson + Liljegren + Holl = 92 total NHL games played. TOTAL.... as in all three of them..... COMBINED!!!

The only thing that solidifies is your complete ineptitude of sensible team building.

Again.... Hard pass. We are done here.

Come on man that’s a way more promising defense than what they currently have in Ceci & Barrie, both whom are expensive & stink.
