No way a owner in his right mind gives that much money for that long in a economic market like this. If hall a rebound season he in a more stable market easily get 10.5-12 for a 7 years.

I get your points. I’m not tied to those guys it was just kinda what I want. I devoted a lot of money in the forward group and only had about 3 millon for 2 defenders so I wanted to trade our first and banker (and more) for a elc left handed d-man and then a righty.

It's not about the price. Not even discussing about that. He is just not available for a trade. With Chara likely retiring next year, B's will need a top pairing D and Vaakanainen is our best D prospect. Potential high top4 now and if he can become a top pair D, that would be ideal. So that's why. For me, he's untradeable since we have no other replacement but some people would move him..

Hall would be a bad signing imo at that price. Take some money from there and sign another top6 F/get a 3rd pair D.
