MASSIVE overpay for Larsson

I was actually thinking of something but dont know how expensive it could be. What if Toronto trades for sergachev. Tampa cannot easily afford both him and cirelli and Sergachev can play both sides so why not give it a try

Leafs can make it work, Kerfoot and johnsson can be traded out, dermott does not have to be resigned and can be traded to tampa who can sign him cheap. And tampa gets a 2021 1st to trade if they want to fix up their team. Serg could work but its just an idea as both teams are cap strapped and both could benefit from trading with one another

Bouchard is too young to play top four, benning wouldnt last a minute and Liljegren has only played like 10 nhl games in his career, there's just no one to replace him

That is such an easily solved problem. Bear is solid, I've been told Jones has played on the right, Benning has done a great job as a 3rd pair, he wouldn't be a disaster on the 2nd. Free agents also exist. This offer is robbing the Leafs blind. If Dubas came to Leafs ownership and proposed that trade, I hope they would have the good sense to tell him to go **** himself.

He struggles on the right side, that why he got demoted to bake because he isnt used to playing right side and TRUST ME, Benning would be a disaster on 2nd pairing

Big, big overpayment for one year of Larsson. Kerfoot is needed as a capable centre, not the plugger Bennett

Bear already has taken Larsson's spot as 1RD. Larsson now plays 2RD.



- Persson did okay on the 2nd pairing playing with Klefbom when Larsson was injured, and Bouchard is far better than Persson.
- Benning has a good track record (but not a long one) playing top-4 with Klefbom. He can play there for a spell, but I wouldn't go into the season depending on him to play 2RD permanently.
- Liljegren progressed well last year, although I'm not sure he's ready for NHL full time yet. I think Holland would start him off in Bakersfield.*
- Mike Green would provide cover for Benning / Bouchard for probably only $1.5M or so. I wouldn't depend on him to play top-4 permanently either, but between the 3 I think EDM would be fine.

* If anyone can teach this kid defensive zone coverage, it's Dave Manson and the crew in Bakersfield. Look what he's done with Jones, Bear etc so far.
