why do the penguins want Khaira?
I mean really on the LW they got Jake, Zucker, McCann and ZAR.
I mean, is there a better LW in the NHL?

At Center they got Crosby, Malkin, Bjugstad till he's traded, Blueger, and Lafferty.
With the ability to play Hallander there next year as well.

I don't see this happening at all. The peguins don't need depth guys they need difference makers. And while DeSmith is no great return, he holds value to the penguins if they decide to trade a goalie earlier than they would like to.

I can actually see Ottawa willing to invest one of their innumerable seconds to take a flyer on Puljujarvi (plus your 2020 fifth). I don't see his current trade value as much higher than that.

Benning is garbage and unneeded, why would the leafs give a 20-goal scorer for that even with the 3rd round pick

If Pittsburgh were to move DeSmith, it definitely wouldn't be for another bottom 6 winger. A defenseman would be the target.

No problem, we will keep Benning, it was hard to fit Johnsson in anyways. He has a little to high of a salary.
Benning has been terrific on the oilers

In his 229 NHL games Benning has been a positive in every stat. (CF is Corsi For-Against %. FF is Fenwick For-Against%. SF is Shots For-Against%, SC is Scoring Chances For-Against%, and GF is Goals For-Against — all at 5×5.)

    His CF% is 50.3% (3040-3004). Oilers overall CF% is 49.1% (13174-13590).
    His FF% is 51.3% (2289-2270). Oilers overall FF% is 49.7% (9857-9969).
    His SF% is 50.3% (1655-1634). Oilers combined SF% is 49.4% (7137-7303).
    His SCF% is 50.2% (1422-1410). Oilers overall SCF% is 49% (6273-6508).
    His GF% is 55.3% (149-120). Oilers combined GF% is 48.4% (561-598)

Khaira plays better at center and he is amazing on the PK, he can help the penguins on their 14th PK to a little better, but if you want to keep your 3 goalies, there are tons on UFA next year

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA you must have never watched him ahahhahahhahha
During the last three seasons at 5v5, Benning has ranked 18th among NHL defenceman with over 2300 minutes played in goals for percentage with a 54.87 — a far cry from the next ranked Oilers D in Darnell Nurse, who ranks 75th with a GF% of 49.43.

I don't think you get it.
The reason the penguins had a 14 PK is because they spent half the year with an injury riddled team that had PK and 4th lines filled with AHL players.
    He doesn't really fit that.
The penguins have a 4C who's more than capable.
What they need is a fast dynamic 3C and a 1 or 2 RW.
He's neither. It doesn't really help the team to do this which is my point.

Nothing wrong with Benning, but we really don't need him. He's a 3rd pair guy (and he's been good in that role) who will probably be looking for a raise from his $1.9m next year. Just doesn't make sense for us to be giving bottom of the lineup players that much money.

There is no doubt they aren't getting that for DeSmith. But they might be it for trading Murray and letting DeSmith be the backup.
Which is why I don't see them trading him till they straighten out what they really want to do goalie wise.

So if Benning is that good. Larsson is that good. Bear is that good. Klefbom is that good. Manning is that good. Jones is that good
Why does your defense still suck. You guys still have defensive problems
Maybe its cause your players aren't actually that good!
