Sure, I agree. Usually when the solution becomes a one year deal, though, total pay becomes less important (to an extent) than title contention. I think that the finalists for his services, if it comes to that, will be the Avs and the Canes. Both have the cap space and the contending core to fit Hall at a competitive salary. I suspect the Islanders will use their space for Barzal, the Blues will use their space for Pietrangelo, and the Bruins will use their space for Krug.
