I actually think going after Nurse is a great idea

Can't see EDM trading Nurse as he plays the 2nd most minutes of the d-group. While I like Grz, he's not even close to a replacement for Nurse. It also would cause a problem during expansion draft as Boston would have to leave one of Carlo, McAvoy, Nurse or Krug exposed annnnd ultimately one of them is getting taken.

Don't have a use for Pool Party. He's an over-hyped prospect because of his size and where he was selected. Reality is he could crack an EDM line-up that isn't exactly a world beater of a group.

So Edmonton has defensive problems and their gonna solve that by trading Nurse

so then you leave Coyle exposed whose on a pretty team friendly deal and your best center after Bergeron/Krejci. Krejci will be a UFA that off-season and Bergeron a UFA the following off-season.

*Upon further review, Coyle has a NMC under his new deal and would be required to be protected. So you're losing DeBrusk

Grzelcyk for Nurse is a decently close trade. Grzelcyk is a much better defender, Nurse has a better offensive game. Adding Kase and a 1st make this a no-brainer for Edmonton, both of those pieces individually have more value than JP.

What? Gryzlek is not better defensively that nurse. Nurse is amazing in his own end and Gryzlek is good but not as good as Nurse. Nurse is also better offensively

We all know bruins fans are brainless but don't go that far. That first round pick is gonna be 25-32.
Kase is a third liner
Gryzlek is a decent defender

Nurse - top 4 defenseman who can play top pairing minutes and is very good defensively
Jesse - they would trade him

I'm well aware. I've been watching Kase for a long time, and Grzelcyk is a tiny, sheltered 3rd pairing lefty who has no value to the Oilers. The 1st has some value but it'll be a very late pick and a year away, if you want to trade that for Puljujarvi straight up I'm pretty sure Holland will discuss.

He's a good 3rd pairing defenseman that gets sheltered in a big way. That's it. If he could play tougher comp he would, but his coaches obviously don't believe he can, so he doesn't. I don't know why this is so difficult for you to understand.
