Canes decline. You’d be lucky to do Pesce 1 for 1.

Canes decline. How about just Pesce?

Lol nah. Marner costs at least Pesce + Suzuki + 1st but Toronto has no need for futures. This trade gives everyone what they need. Marner would cost a lot.

Yeah but you have to keep in mind that Marner is overpaid. His value is not as high as you think.

I know slightly but it doesn’t mean he can get traded for Pesce straight up. If Pesce was a 2 way specimen who could help offensively maybe. But even Pesce + Niederreiter wouldn’t be enough imo

Maybe you have a point but I’m just not a believer you can get a huge return for him.

there is such a big difference in value between Pesche+1st+Suzuki and Pesche+Nino lol, it would be in between but lean towards the Pesche+Nino value

You can have Lassi Thomson and the SJ pick for him lol. As long as the pick isn’t top 3, 4-6 range

As a Sens fan, I’d be willing to pay:
One of Thomson or JBD plus one of Duclair, Tierney, C. Brown + Colin White + SJ pick (assuming 4-6th overall)

That’s truly a substantial package. I like how you rate Marner as a superstar player.

Yes he is my favourite player but not many people view him too highly, so I have been influenced by them that he isn’t as good as I think.

top 10 in the league for wingers in points per game, plays every situation including penalty kill, kids 22 years old hasnt even played his full first year of his contract, i think you need to wait a year or 2 before you call him overpaid especially after all these guys who took discounts (bridge contracts) sign their new deals

There’s no denying that Marner is a great player but he’s getting paid to be a top 5 winger in the game when he’s top 10, so no matter what, that contract is hard to swallow. I agree that guys like Point, Laine, Tkachuk & Meier will all get more money than Mitch on their next deals. But still, Mitch should’ve got 9x7.
