This is not the same as in the NBA where teams can casually give up "the sun & the moon" for Anthony Davis or Paul George. Trading the entire farm & top core means the McDavid would be left in the same situation as Carey Price was from 2013 to 2017. This would also mean that it is guarantee that the picks from 2020 to 2022 will be in the lottery. That's even worse than the Lindros or Duchene trades.

Montreal would pretty much have to gut their entire minor league system to afford McDavid, Once again you're not even close to getting McDavid for those pieces.
