Detroit Red Wings 2020-2021 Re-Build

Créé par: Vido
Équipe: 2020-21 Red Wings de Detroit
Date de création initiale: 29 mars 2020
Publié: 29 mars 2020
Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
UFA Signings:

The point of these signing were to find value in players who either didn't perform well last year or can get bought in to coming to a bad with all the cap space that Detroit has. So, this would be seen in Galchenyuk, Demelo, Soucy and Zykov. I feel these players are either in the position to get a second chance in the NHL (Zykov and Galchenyuk) or can be bought in to coming to Detroit by being overpaid but still on decent contracts where they can grow on a bad team (Soucy and Demelo).

Looking to Trade:

Filppula, Glendenning , Nielsen, Helm, Dekeyser, Abdelkader and Bernier.

Hmmm why would a rebuilding team with no cap space for 2 years not want a high a draft pick?

D's a joke again? Bertuzzi should get at least 6 x 5.5 he should be a consistent to 50-55 point scorer in this league. Mantha will probably get the Kreider deal 7 x 6.5. And where's Svechnikov? You signed him he's not on the roster and he's know longer waiver exempt. So you either play him or lose him for nothing.

What, no cap space? I think you are mistaken. Wings will have a lot of cap space next year. Do you even know anything about the Wings. They have 11/players signed next year and ate at 46/million in cap used. Even if cap dropped to 76 million, after signing Martha, Bertuzzi and Fabbri they would have 14 players and 60 million tied up in cap. That leaves 16 million to sign 9/players whom probably a re young players on contracts less than 1.5 million dollars.

Please stop making posts about teams you obvious know nothing about or do better research.

In what universe in 2 years have the Wings had no cap space? Sure don't know what you're talking about the Wings have had more then enough cap space these past two season.

So, if you look at the contracts you gave out vs what I gave out on average it's essentially the exact same. Neither of us know exactly what they will get, it was just an estimate. Svechnikov will start scratched or be moved for another prospect depending on how Detroit views the situation

They have $20M wrapped up in players that are either 4th liners, 3rd pair D man or replacement level players. They have no chance to contend even for a playoff spot for 2 years. What're the point of being a middle of the pack team for 2 years where you can push for high draft picks instead. They have tons of cap space to play if they're putting out an AHL caliber team, yes I agree with you. If they max out at the cap they have no chance in making the playoffs so, whats the point ?

Ownership wouldn't even allow the team to spend to the cap especially with the spot they're in.

I wonder why they didn't use all that space. They don't have enough room with all the bad contracts on the team to push for the playoffs so yes, they don't have enough space.

That's not an overpay for Demelo, he likely stays in WPG for around 4x4 (or gets that elsewhere)

Seeing I live Herr and I have watched this team for over 30/years I know what I am talking about. Yes they have money wrapped up in players who are bottom tiered players but they had a very good run and they are rebuilding.

But some of your signings are horrible. Bowery is no where close at over 2 million, and he would never play over Dekeyser, who might not be elite but is adecent #4 defenseman, something I can not say for Bowey. They also have several players like Spider, McIssacs who will be brought along slowly but which should be better than Bowery and Cholowski. Cholowski will be probably moved this year in a package as Yzerman has asked him to do certain things which he either can not or will not. That does not bode well for his future here.

Hronek this year has proved he can be a top pairing guy.

Yzerman stated when he got here he wanted players who would hustle and give 100%, something Chucky has not at 2/of his 3 stops. Yes he's played better in Minny but the chance he faltwra is too great to take a chance on.

Demelo will stick with Jets and Soucy it OK, but nothing special.

As far as bad deals most come off this year except for Abdelkader, Nilsson and Helm and Filpula, the last being only 1 years left.

2nd line scoring with a good center, defense that can stay health and a goalie who can be futures by Bernie are the main issues. Getting Alexis Lafreniere helps but a center ice man which can feed him is essential.

With the season on hold and no word when or if the season will continue, I would rather Yzerman use his cap space to acquire players from team is cap trouble, not sign those players which are bottom of the barrell pick ups

If Detroit lands Lafreniere they need to get a 2C, couple of dmen and a goalie, how Yzerman goes about that idk but that should be his plan, can probably get most in free agency but there's not a lot of 2C options in free agency so how he fills that need is gonna be the most difficult to do.

Looking to trade Bernier?

MTL offers Kulak, Lindgren, and a 2020 4th Round Pick.

Galchenyuk is a smart signing, low risk potential for high reward.

Edit:
Could make some sort of condition on the pick based on Bernier resigning with the habs.

Come in last and hope for a franchise level player in the draft. Good plan, we are doing that now.
