Columbus isn’t moving Nuttivaara... especially not to a team in their own division... we’d much rather keep Nuttivaara and trade Murray.

Jeff Carter is the perfect replacement for Nolan. Plays center and right wing. He'll get them 20 goals from the 3rd line too.

I like carter's fit on FLA more. I absolutely love the idea of a Carter for Matheson (other pieces included) swap. I think PHI would like a more defensive guy than Carter.

Believe it or not Carter is actually very good. He center PK2 with Lewis for many years and had success. I'm not interested in Matheson as a Kings fan, but that's just my opinion.

It's a pretty cheap way to get a top 4 defenseman. He might be on the low end of that spectrum right now, worth about 750K-1M less than his contract, however his opportunity to rebound in LA to be worth a high end top 4 guy is very strong. LA has no left side guys (MacDermott excluded) with a decent amount of NHL experience, and I don't think it is wise to bring in all those rookies on the back end at once. There's a clear gap there, and whether he pairs with Walker or Roy I believe he would be a stabilizing force back there.

Considering the market for a guy like Carter is so small and his value plummets year by year, there's limited chances to get something out of him. I really don't want to see him back in PHI - however that mentality of me towards that might reflect what you have about matheson on LA
