Description
With Jarry and Desmith i dont think PIT matches on Murray given the expansion Draft is coming up and they can only protect 1 goalie regardless .MTL is ok with losing him but on the off chance we dont Price/Murray tandem is worth a shot

I agree that PIT shouldn't match, especially at $4M+ AAV. They can add to their middle six Wingers with the money they'd save. Jarry will probably sign a short term deal (2 years, maybe) with a higher salary for the final season to raise the qualifying offer. I'm thinking $2.5-$3M AAV. His numbers have declined in the second half of the season after a ridiculous first half.

As far as MTL making the OS...

That'd be like $15M AAV on goalies. Ouch! I was thinking maybe SJS, CHI, or maybe even DET could make more sense. But, we'll see...

I would bring back Benn! Was one of my favorite Dmen.
Murray will be looking for a raise so he won’t sign that offersheet. He will probably sign 2 year deal with Pittsburgh and separate the playing time with Jarry.

we could probably offersheet him for 3 to 3.5m and get him
i just overpay salary because it saves argument from PIT fans
while MTL fans know as long as MB is in charge we're set for our 5th straight season next year with 5m+ cap left to end the season
to me overpaying 1m to Murray isnt a big deal when he'll give us what no goalie since Halak left has , a true back up and possible Tandem

he wont get a raise from PIT , i dont even think they'll give him his current cap
he's struggled so much post Fleury and proven he's not a Starter but the leagues top 5 back up goalie .
Jarry solidified that this year and Desmith stepped up the year before during Murray steaky play

If i'm PIT i'm running Jarry/Desmith tandem as its got more upside as they continue to progress forward
Murray on the other hand has regressed and PIT cant afford to pay him for poor play during times they needed him to play strong
they're deffinately regretting giving up MAF to keep him 100%

laugh laugh That Matt Murray offer sheet is a royal joke, Murray is already making $3.75 million and you honestly think he'd sign that joke of a contact. He'd at least be looking for a $1.5 million raise. No way in hell would Murray sign that garbage offer sheet.
