Description

I am assuming a flat cap and no compliance buyouts.
Karlsson could reject this but given the Sharks current situation I think he would be willing to except a trade, probably not to the Wild, but maybe. I also don't think the Wild would do this since they would then have 1/2 their cap space tied up on defensemen for the next 5 years.

sharks would love to probably dump that karlsson contract not sure if minnesota or any teams wants to take it due to cap issues. Maybe if the sharks retain who knows

That is a LOT of money tied up in top 4 defense. Good luck paying Fiala if he keeps it up, a top 6 center, or even Kaprizov after his ELC expires. It also only works now because both goalies are making under $1m, which isn't sustainable.

I agree Dumba and karlsson are both having bad seasons but lets face it nobody wants karlssons contract. He has been injury prone and with more than 11 mill cap hit no thank u

Bad trade for both. San Jose is going to bounce back, and be a playoff team so Karlsson isn’t going to trade Norcal for the twin cities.

Yeah I don't think Wild do this without Sharks retaining some on Karlsson. Spiridonov is a nice prospect who does fill a need, but he is tied up in KHL another year or 2 from my understanding. And 2nd rounders are nice.

This trade would have to start with Spurgeon going to the Sharks...and that is already more than i would give up for Karlsson’s contract.

Karlsson is the perfect example of why the Spurgeon contract is so stupid!

I dont know why people insist we need to dump Karlsson. His contract is bad but we arent rebuilding, hes also one of the best D in the league.
