If Mikheyev asking price is more than average than I'd say the Leafs ask him to stay home in Russian, that other big Russian kid could crack the lineup (Korshkov, admittingly Mikheyev is better). I will never understand the obsession of RHD, the best Leafs D-Corps I remember (Burns Leafs circa '92-'95) had only 2 of 7 being RHD and one of them was Berehowsky.

Hard to believe Mikheyev will get the medium sized chunk of money that everyone thought he would earn by the end of the season. The injury kind of stopped that and now it's likely going to be a "show-me" one year deal for him.

As for RHD, the bottom line is that Leafs need one top D. It's less about an obsession with RHD and more along the lines of they have plenty of LHD and so naturally the only D to add to this roster is RHD.
