OK but their 100% better options than Woll and Shenn ... cool comment though.

Schenn and Reimer in their Leafs career were both good, admittedly they both suck now, same as Gunnar and Stralman both were meh Leaf players but became good afterwards. Robertson and Woll have proven nothing and shouldn't be here, where's Drake Berehowski ?

G. McKegg
K. Holzer
J. Leivo
D. Timashov
A. Brooks
A. Bibeau

And as the other comment said, Mikheyev doesn't count, but the other big Russian kid does, Korshkov.

Holy crap, looking at hockeydb, the worst draft in history must belong to the Leafs 1999 year, 9 players picks, only 3 NHL games totaled played.
1996 draft was saved by the luck of getting Kaberle in the 8th Rd. 12 players drafted by the Leafs before him, total = 21 NHL games. Kaberle = 900+ games.

There's a big difference between poor drafting and trading away tons of picks for veterans over a 5 year period (2010 - 2015).

Here are just some of the draft picks that Toronto traded away (any of them, or equivalent picks, could be on your team):

Round 1 | Pick 002 = Tyler Seguin - C (Phil Kessel)
Round 1 | Pick 009 = Doug Hamilton - D (Phil Kessel)
Round 1 | Pick 013 = Lars Eller - C (Vesa Toskala)
Round 1 | Pick 030 = Sam Steel - C (Fred Andersen)
Round 2 | Pick 038 = Roman Josi - D (Yanic Perreault)
Round 2 | Pick 038 = Marc Pettersson - D (Pete Holland)
Round 2 | Pick 043 = Brandon Saad - W (Phil Kessel)
Round 2 | Pick 050 = Max Comtois - C (Fred Andersen)
Round 2 | Pick 054 = Craig Smith - C (Vesa Toskala)

C - Auston Matthews
C - Tyler Seguin
C - Nazem Kadri
C - Craig Smith
C - Lars Eller
C - Alex Steen
C - Sam Steel
C - Fred Goat

W - Mitchell Marner
W - William Nylander
W - Andreas Johnson
W - Brandon Saad
W - Connor Brown
W - Leo Komarov
W - Pierre Engvall
W - Max Comtois
W - Nick Robertson

D - Roman Josi
D - Doug Hamilton
D - Morgan Rielly
D - Marc Petterson
D - Anton Stralman
D - Travis Dermott
D - Rasmus Sandin
D - Tim Liljegren
D - Carl Gunnarson
D - Luke Schenn

G - Tukka Rask
G - James Riemer
G - Joseph Woll
G - Ian Scott

Did we draft those guys? How do you know we would have gotten those guys?

Notice how I said or equivalent picks?

Toronto definitely would have drafted Seguin at 2nd overall.

And I'm pretty sure they would have picked up a few NHL players from this:

2nd + 9th + 13th + 30th + 38th + 38th + 43rd + 44th + 50th + 54th

"It never happens" ... but it just randomly happened with all the picks Toronto traded away.

So I guess it does happen sometimes?

You're assuming Toronto would have made those exact same player picks given the opportunity.

My original post directly states that they may have selected different players.

But they clearly would have taken Seguin at 2nd overall and gotten some other good players with traded 1st rounders.

OK you win.

But I'm stealing your strategy of pretending not to understand arguments in order to dismiss them.

And using it on your mom.
