How is Carlson not the number 1 RHD isn’t he the favorite to win the Norris this year? Why is Jones so low? He’s better then Ellis and might be better then McAvoy, though I wouldn’t push that. And it’s about time someone else gives Josi some love.

Also ROR should be the 10th center on the list. He’s better then couturier.

Carlson gets ran through defensively and a lot of his point production is tied to teammates. He’s still elite offensively, but other guys are just as good and don’t suck defensively. The rest is just personal preference.

ROR/Couturier/Stamkos/Tavares are all right there, I guess ROR has the accolades, but I think Couts is just the man.

Can I ask why you put Gallagher at 10 I believe he should be there but I may be just a little Biased so I would love your outside input

Relatively elite 5v5 possession numbers as well as consistently high GAR/WAR results, plus he scores a ton. There’s also just not too many good right wings out there right now

Kane below Stone is a tough take

I’m not gonna smack you in the face on Jones but he had a pretty crapped up year his RAPM and GAR/WAR was actually lower than Vince Dunn and I’m not going to put all of the blame on him because Werenski also took a part in this and just the overall slump of the team and goaltending at times not all Jones fault, but he definitely did not perform this year to the standards he did in previous years.

I'm obviously biased, but after this season, I think Zibanejad deserves a top 10 Center slot

Kane has literally been a bottom-10 defensive player in the league the last two years. He’s still elite offensively, but the increase in scoring the last few years has been due to cheating more for offense and playing absurd minutes, not from playing better.

Wasn’t great last year either and hasn’t cracked 2 wins in his career. Now that’s not everything, but it is a pretty capable measure of effectiveness.

Maybe, but there’s like 5/6 guys who deserve to be there (ROR, Tavares, Stamkos, Pettersson,) it’s close

I agree his defense is dog****, but 20 more points in 5 more games, Id still take Kane on my team over Stone if it was just for the year (as this post is current rankings). Id probably take stone in the long run though. But it isnt like Stone spends the majority of his time in the defensive zone, he still has a 54% offensive zone start pct. Thats more of what I went by tough. Its close for sure, but I think Kane definitely has the edge until Stone proves he can match that production
