I'd be really surprised if the Caps traded Eller, even with McMichael entering the fray. I think you might see McMichael starting on the wing, then transitioning to center in a couple seasons. Eller is one of the more consistent performers, and he has added value as a player who can move up in the lineup if Backstrom or Kuznetsov are injured.

Eller is like the only person worth a damn on that bottom 6 this year and then you trade him?

Looks like somebody didn't watch the Caps fourth line score three goals in one game on his precious Penguins recently sarcasm

Looks like someone is bitter because they know it's true.
Lets see, Pánik is the guy all of WSH would like to shove out the door. Who was suppose to come in and be a solid 3rd line offensive thread and managed to work his way right down to the 4th line. Some "steal" in the offseason for you guys huh?
Hathaway is little more than a goon because Wilson doesn't want his paycheck taken away.
And then you have Dowd who has done nothing his whole career.
Hagelin couldn't find the back of the net if his life depended on it.
Kovalchuk sucks and you were starting to realize that with him before the season ended.
Then you have Ellar the only guy on that whole bottom 6 worth a piss.
Would you like to continue on this?
Yeah I thought not.

I would, actually.

Carl Hagelin had 17 points in the last 22 games before the shutdown after suffering an injury to start the year, including a 2 goal game against the Penguins. Not to mention he's a terrific penalty killer. Kovalchuk has 4 points in 7 games for us, which is more than fine production from a third liner. Panik got hurt at the very beginning of the year and it took him a while to find his footing. The third line of Hagelin-Eller-Panik was the team's best line for two weeks before they added Kovalchuk, and his offensive production has worked its way back up to good third line territory, even with the bad start to the year. Many Caps fans wanted him out because of the bad start, but I wasn't one of them.

Yeah, Hathaway's a "goon", but he'd have double digit goals if it weren't for the stoppage. Add in his fantastic penalty killing and pain-in-the-ass play style and he's a quality fourth liner. Dowd is nothing more than a 4C. He's nothing special, but he does his job and does it well. All these guys provide positive value to the team.

And just so ya know, there's this thing called sarcasm. It seems pretty evident that you're the bitter one between the two of us. But I wouldn't say that nobody in the bottom six is worth a damn when that very same bottom six has torched the Penguins the last two times they've played.

There's a difference between being done and being on the decline. Just because he was on the decline his last year and a half in Pittsburgh doesn't mean that he still can't be a valuable piece to a different team, and he's been great for the Caps this year.
