Columbus declines. They’d need more for keeping half the contract. At least a 4th would come back for retaining half of Savard and can be upgraded to a 2nd if he’s resigned.

Imagine if Savard plays the one year and re-signs with Columbus. How bad would this deal be for Toronto. If you want the 4th there would have to be a conditional 3rd on Columbus signing Savard.

I don’t see why Winnipeg would do that deal. Value is probably somewhat close, but no real reason to do it.

The trade would be Savard half retained, for Kerfoot and conditional 4th that turns into a 2nd if savard resigns...

The value difference between the players more than makes up for the retention.

A 3rd line center for a top 4 defenceman... I don’t think so...

That is Not the best Power Play in the leauge(2 players on a certain team are better than that pp and 1 player on Another team is better than the pp)

And BTW. Retain on Marner and you might get close deal

A third line center with 3 years left. And let's be real, this season Savard has been underwhelming. Without other factors (i.e retention, contract extension), in a Kerfoot for Savard deal, Columbus needs to add.

Your team needs to stop focusing on having best PP in the league and rather having the best PK in the league. Having guys like Matthews, Tavares, Marner, Nylander, and Reilly you'll always have PP success. Your only good penalty killer on the backend is Muzzin.....

Roster Shake Up Best PP in the League. Leafs had a much better PP last season with Marner playing the right point. Having Barrie playing the right point has been a season long failure. Just not having Barrie next season improves the Leafs PP and team in general.
