  1. Staal, Jordan
Détails additionnels:
Jordan Staal can come in and solidify a 3C spot. His contract isn't the most team friendly, but when he retires, Carolina have to bite the bullet, not Nashville. It was a 10 year by 6 mil deal.

Staal is a great defensive C and he's a great playmaker. Don't let it fool you that Staal is actually a great player in either end of the ice, although his hands are starting to go and he cannot score as much as he used to

This is really bad for Nashville, Bonino and Staal arent that far off eachother and Nashville needs to loose cap soon so they want Boninos contract off the books.

No. Trade is very bad for NSH, UFA signings won't happen when they have young players who will take those spots - may need a 3rd pair D, but not a big fan of TVR - and the lines make 0 sense. Not happening.

Your not gonna get Spezza. Dude doesn't want anywhere but Toronto. He also doesn't want 2 years.

You're ridiculously overrating Staal. NSH wouldn't do a one-for-one Bonino for Staal deal. The Preds have a surplus of centers, and Staal's salary would hinder their ability to improve areas of need (middle 6 wing, and 3rd pair D). If you want Bonino, maybe there's a deal that could be made around Fleury for him?

Not a fan of the UFA signings either.

Carolina want rid of Staal, they don't want Bonino. Staal is still one of the best centers in the league in both zones when it comes to chance creation. His hands aren't what they used to be, but the dude is a damn nice player to have. Bonino is a cap dump, Staal is not. That is the BIG difference here.

Staal >>>>>>>>>>>>> bonino

Its not 2012 anymore, Staal is on a bad contract and displaying a statistical decline year over year.

Bonino only has 1 year left at 4m, hes right on track for his career average in points. 13th in selke voting last season. Not to mention hes been playing on NSH best line.

NSH already has Turris at 6M which is a contract they need to move, taking on an aging center with term and high cap hit does not make sense, especially if they are giving up picks and one of their better players this season.

Very much incorrect. Bonino is better at both ends of the rink, makes less, and won't be an expensive buy out candidate in a year or so. Your proposal is more lopsided for CAR than the Forsberg for Erat trade was for NSH.

Your name is analytical GM, look at Staal's analytics. He is a great D man at either end with one of the best two way games among forwards in the NHL. His hands are gone, sure. But his play is still very high quality.

This is a joke. Staal is easily better than Bonino, Staal is a good player, Bonino is VERY not

Staal's play is in a serious decline, he's too expensive, and has too much term. Bonino was having his best season as a Pred, makes significantly less, and is only signed for one more year. If you don't want Bonino, don't ask for him in a trade. Just please stop trying to pretend "Staal is still one of the best centers in the league in both zones". He doesn't hold anywhere close to the value you think he does, and Nashville is the last team to be interested in another expensive center.

Staal is one of the best defensive forwards in the league, Stats cannot be denied. That is just a fact. In his D zone, he's easily the better defensive forward in this trade.

Offensively, no one generates more chances in the NHL than Jordan Staal, per evolving hockey. Has he got a bad cap hit? Ya, but if he retires, it doesn't affect the predators. Has he got bad term? Ya. However, he's currently the Canes captain, he's having a down year with his hands, but his play is NOT declining. I highly suggest you go re-evaluate Jordan Staal because he might even beat out RyJo for the 1C spot, because of his solid game in 2 zones. You're gonna have a meltdown now saying that "lMaO yOu'Re SaYiNg, He'S bEtTeR tHaN jOhAnSsOn" but I didn't say that. Putting him on Nashville's top line gives someone that actually plays defence in the forward core, and it gives a great play-maker to Arvidsson and Forsberg, both of whom may benefit from it.

Carolina move out a top 6 calibre C for a cap dump to create space for Necas to move across and Geekie to come up, Nashville get a genuine two way forward who can put up great numbers in both ends to compliment 3 great offensive players.

If you think so highly of Staal, why do you want to trade him so badly?

He's declining. Hard. Even if Nashville had room for another center (they don't - Poile needs to move one of them this summer), they'd have no interest in Staal. And your proposal is an outrageous ask for the guy.

Bonino @ $4.1M/1 yr > Staal @ $6M/3 yrs
1st round pick > Staal
2nd + 3rd round picks > Staal

Try Buffalo or Detroit. They have a need for stop gap center depth, while their young guys mature - but I don't think you're going to happy with the return.
