If you think this is an overpay, you should watch Brett Pesce some more. He's the most underrated D man in the NHL, and he's probably a top 20 D man.

Carolinas depth puts them in a position to move him for fewer better pieces. If they move peste or slaving it's gonna be for a game breaker

-Engvall trade was mostly a depth move that adds more depth on D and opens cap room to re-sign Clifford who I think brings a more valuable asset to the team
-They got a top 4 RHD which is an expensive commodity and a promising RHD to fill out the top 6

And people would say this is a overpayment to Manson even though I think imo he has a better upside
