Is Shalunov really predicted to make the team next year? I haven’t followed the KHL closely and I see a lot of folks signing him.

Doubt he will but who knows, anything is possible

I think he plans on it. His contract is expiring and allegedly there is mutual interest for bringing him over. I dont expect him to be anything more than a solid 3rd liner, but he does put up points in the KHL, so if he is nothing more than a cheap 3rd liner it doesnt really put a dent in future plans. He is 27 after all so there shouldnt be too big of a developmental curve

Wasn't sure Kuba would make the team this year but he has turned out really well this year. We have a decent record bringing euros across lately.

I think Shalunov may come across and give NA a try before its too late. I think he is hitting 27 now so not getting any younger. Worst case, he ends up in Rockford or heads back to KHL.
