I like the idea of Getting Allen, but are we better off getting a goalie like Lehner, Crawford, Halak as UFAs?

Crawford will stay in Chicago, if not Im 100% welling to sign him one or 2 years around 4M. Halak it's a no and Lehner want to be a starter, not a backup, maybe the same for Halak

Its a good job overall! Steen could bring leadership. And allen is a very reliable 2nd goalies but i would gave st louis back is second round pick i mean we basically take 10 millions of their payroll for 30 spot in the draft.

If we're sure to draft Sanderson with the pick it might be worth it but I'd rather trade Tatar and something for a young LHD (Hanifin)

Umm and you get Allen and Steen, each of whom has value, as you yourself stated right before that silliness. Let's not pretend you;re just doing us a favor out of the kindness of your hearts, neither of those players is a straight cap dump. Meanwhile, we also have zero use for Lindgren. So if anyone is taking a pick back and tossing over a 4th in its place, it's the Blues taking back that 2020 1st.

Yes right a 17 point 4th line players who make more then 5 millions and a backup goalie who make more then 4 millions aren’t cap dump. I won’t let you in charge of managing my budget. One week and you’ll bankrupt me. If you don’t have anything intelligent to say just don’t replied that kind of bullshat.

I don't like that Domi trade, trading a *.75ppg center for Niku (Nice developement for this kid but already turning 24 this season and hasn't yet played a steady role in the NHL, also only 3 more years or RFA status), Vesa (I think he'll be an Armia like player, good middle six but nothing wow) and a late 1st round pick. Previous offer was better with Perrault, Heinola and a 1st (I'd be willing to send something more than Domi like a pick or good B-prospect -à la McShane- if needed) because at least I can see raw potential in Heinola. Also to be honest I don't think this offer clears enough cap for Winnipeg to do it.
Now with 7M$ in cap I'm signing a good 3C because I want KK to freaking burn the AHL before coming back up and obviously with his season cut short he won't be able to do so this year.
Clearing 10M$ in cap is worth a loth more than dropping 31 spots in the draft and get a downgrade at backup. I know Steen still has value as a leader but it's negated by his cap hit for a cap ceiling team so that's a push, roughly the same thing could be said about Allen (Once again only in an environment of a team with cap issues). I couldn't put a value on it but no way I'm sending a backup in the making and a 2nd rounder.
To be fair in this year's draft if they don't go BPA I'll loose my mind. There's so much talent that you need to pick the best available and forget his position, with that said I don't mind Perfetti.
I like the lineup but it's missing someone that can put the puck in the net. Lehkonen is the two-way guy, KK the playmaker and Byron's the odd man out. I'd go free agency to get a top 9 capable winger (aka Kovalchuk like).
I like that you bring back Thompson as depth. He's still NHL capable but even if scratched he'll still be really helpful to the young guys like Evans.

I'll give this 75%. Mainly because we can't go back next year with 7M$ in bank, if we do and we miss the playoff they're all gone. (At least you didn't offer-sheet Barzal, that makes me proud)

i think like Alzner you're willing to carry the dead cap rather then pay to move him
its doesnt Magically give Steen value , that's ridiculous given his play vs his contract

Allen you could argue has a positive value as his contract is almost up making him not our problem after that.
I love Jake , 1/3 NB Born NHL players and the only one with a Cup he brought home
I golf with his uncle and dad twice a year and have met Jake a few dozen times
but even with all that bias from myself seeing value in Allen , he has none to MTL even as a back up
Price wont sit for him anymore then he would Niemi or Montoya because he's not good enough to steal games

To the right team though and not MTL Allen has value but in STL he has the biggest value
why they'd trade him knowing he plays well with Binnington doesnt make sense .

But again lets not pretend clearing the cap to Re-sign Pietrangelo does not have value to STL
if they thought moving a late 1st could clear the cap needed to sign him longterm similar to TML moving Marleau's cap to free up the cap to get the Marner deal done

Allen trade out , Crawford as a UFA in
Better quality and is a Team first guy who would be open to playing Back up .

Crawford's won all the Cups he will in CHI before he retires given their current situation
Why not come home to MTL to play in his home province for his childhood team at the Bell Center?

Price/Crawford >Price /Allen
mostly because Price will trust Crawford in his crease
Allen like Montoya and Niemi will get there to watch basically

WPG trade makes sense as Niku sells the package as he's a Lefty that plays RD and MTL needs LD today but in 1-2 years will have a surplus so we can move him to RD

I said they aren't straight cap dumps, and they're not. Both would improve your team, both will be heading into the final year of their contracts. Steen's value goes far beyond points and you know it. He grinds on the boards, drives play and kills penalties. Allen is playing far better than your unmovable albatross $10m starter (talk about your budget busters). Steen + Allen for the Caps 2020 3rd you own is more than appropriate value for both teams. You're not getting Steen, Allen and our 2020 1st for a damn 4th rounder. Get real, Army doesn't get fleeced.

There not a team that will take steen contract. He is in the same situation then patrick marleau but he produced at lower level. Taking steen 35+ contract alone is worth a first round pick. Like i said before if you don’t know what you’re talking about, just abstain yourself. If st louis doesnt take salary back it’s exactly a cap dump. Think for a minute before saying dumb things. Steen contract is a cap dump even if he still is useful. At almost 6 millions there not a team that will take a 35+ years players who is a 4th line utility guys. There plenty of guy like that on the free agency market each year signing for around a millions dollar. If you think that steen hold any value you are in complete denied. Allen is probably a top five second goalies but again with is salary he will be hard to move if the blues doesnt take back salary. Do some research for once and you will acknowledge that salary dump cost the seller bot the buyers.

Dude, the Bruins just dumped Backes, who has nowhere near the on-ice value of Steen and twice as much salary to eat in the Kase trade. The B's basically sent a 1st for Kase, which means they dumped Backes for the cost of a C+ prospect in Axel Andersson. And that was at the trade deadline. Your concept of what a cap dump is and what that costs is well off. Yes, Steen is overpaid, but not by as much as you wish to claim, and Allen is not overpaid, though it might seem like it to you because your faltering starter makes a mint. But guess what, that's not our problem.
