Why does everyone want to trade Mitch Marner? Yes, his contract AAV is high, and should have been lower, but he's been about 1.2 pts per game over the last 2 season. He also is one of the few Leaf forwards that kill penalties and does a pretty decent job at it. Yes, he gives up the puck a little more than I'd like, but when the salary cap is $90 million in 2 years, his contract will not nearly as bad as some might view it now. In my opinion, there are 4 wingers ahead of Marner as far as trade bait, and in order that would probably look something like Kapanen, Nylander, Kerfoot and Johnsson.

I really don't want to trade Marner, he'll only get better and probably have a ridiculous season next year, it's capfiendly it's not real

He's the only one to trade really. Nylander makes too little to move, JT and AM are the two C's. Leaves Marner. I think the team could be better if the right deal comes up but not this one

I don't understand the mathemetics there. You probably get as much for Nylander. Better contract, has good term and will probably get to at least 35 goals this year. You'd be selling high on a guy that does not play defence very well over Marner, who usually tries. Besides, if you take into account the possibility of the Leafs adding Nick Robertson to their lineup next season, that is barely a contract to consider, so it's not necessarily just about the money here.

He is good, to be honest I don’t think he looked bad though night. He can eat minutes and pick lay very physical.

Jesus there is no way you actually watch leaf games. Marner is a train wreck defensively. He's always been. Every actual fan will tell you this. Nylander plays both sides of the puck at least average to good

The fact that you say that about William Nylander makes me think you don't actually watch Leafs games. William Nylander does NOT play defense.
