If an RFA is offersheeted and his team matches the offersheet, the RFA has to sign with the team that already holds his rights right?

I don't think that's a wise move. You might not need the next 2 1st round picks, but you will need the last 2 for sure with the aging core on this team. Also I don't think Barzal is the style of player that Boston would go after. I could understand Domi or Cirelli though.

Correct? They matched the offer sheet, So they still retain his rights.

What team would trade a 2020 1st for a 34 year old center with a $7m+ cap-hit with only one year remaining on his deal. A deal like this may happen closer to the trade deadline, but it is not a summertime deal. You'd have to lower expectations on a return for Krejci or retain some salary if you want to trade him in the summer. The only teams that would want Krejci would be contending teams, and they tend to have little cap space.

Krejci would actually look pretty great on the Avs for 2021 year - they have the cap and wouldn't need to worry about him being on the books next year. Or if he is, it would be at a much reduced salary.

Let the bruins have him for that price, Carlo, Debrusk, Grzelcyk and than sign Krug can also be had and you get 4 1st round picks. Take your pick.

Krejci would definitely be worth a first to a contender whether it's at the trade deadline or offseason. consistent 60-70 point guy. Teams have given up firsts for a lot worst LOL. Also not sure why you think his contract is bad. Market value at this point.

4 picks from 25-31 isn’t enough to let go of barzal. Anything under 13 mill isles match. Isles owners aren’t letting their best (and most entertaining) player go when they invested a ton of money into a new arena that will be finished in a year

I hope barzal gets an OS

I agree but this also eats up all thier cap space, and Lou hates absolutely hates paying top dollar for young players

They are still valuable picks lol. Pastranak was picked at 25. Their core, Bergeron, Krejci, Marchand, Chara are all 31+. Can't continue to stay successful without the picks and prospects to eventually replace them. Barzal would be nice but not nice enough to give up the entire future when not necessary at all.

Oy this is bad. And the amount of comments just goes to show it lol
Bruins dont want or need another center. Bruins arent giving up these crappy deals. Bruins are not trading Krejci. Bruins are not signing Halak to anything less than 4.5 million (so they are not getting him back). Bruins are not signing Kug for more than 6.75 million (discount). Bruins are not signing Brett Ritchie to anything better than a two-way deal. I can keep going but I wont

No the wild (or any contender) would do that in a heartbeat at the TDL.
But its the bruins who decline ehre. Krejci makes players around him better, and puts up 1st line points as a second liner with 3rd line wingers all the time lol.

the owners would step in even if Lou wanted to take the 1st rd picks. They took over Tavares negotiations. Bottom line they’re not letting another star center go.

You make valid points, but alot of the players you mentioned were blind luck to hit on, there are way way more players picked between 20-30 that never become more than depth players
