Description

This is all contingent on winning the cup. Start the process of integrating young players like Studnicka, Frederic, Vaakanainen and even Vladar. I figure if Bruins win the cup, Krug would have severely priced himself out of town. Keep Chara if he wants to play for 3rd pairing shut down damn and great mentor for Vaak, Zboril and Lauzon. And HOLY CAP SPACE for the future. When Bergeron contract expires go hard for Barkov if he doesn't re-sign with Florida.

While I agree that they won't have this much cap space I'm wondering what's the ewwww? Literally the exact same team minus Krejci and Krug. Studnicka has to replace Krejci at some point and I'm not paying Krug 8 million per. No thanks.

You need to move on from aging players towards the end of their contract. Krejci broke into the NHL and had an impact at about the same age as Studnicka is now. Studnicka is ready.

Agreed that studnicka is ready. Gambling the last couple years of the bergeron/marchand window on rookies while removing the teams two leading scorers outside of the top line is just, well, stupid.

Going from Krejci to Studnicka is a downgrade and a HUGE gamble to try and win a cup. Relying on a rookie to give you 55-65 points (what Krejci gives you) is a lot to ask of a kid. The trade for Krejci itself is criminally low and you're undervaluing Krejci.
