You honestly think that you would have this team if those trade weren't made? You probably wouldn't have McDavid. And this team isn't still all that wonderful. By the sound of things both Hall and Eberle wanted out. Do you honestly think that this team could even be possible considering what Hall and Eberle would command plus McDavid Draisaitl and Barzal with huge contracts. This team wouldn't even be sustainable over the long haul.

They would still have McDavid. All these trades occurred after he was drafted. There would be differences to this team of course, but smaller ones like Athanasiou, Green, etc... The core of this team would be undeniable.

You're right they would've McDavid seeing that both trades happened after he was drafted. But still even if both Hall and Eberle were with the team this team couldn't be sustainable over the long term. Just far too many expensive pieces to deal with.
