Description
Curious what would be involved in Aquiring Cernak? How does Tampa navigate this cap situation? I feel like the Edmonton trade leans the Oilers way would prefer a pick coming back but Oilers are looking thin at the draft

I think the value is nearly there, but that does nothing for tampa, who is trying to shed cap. If they are moving Cernak, it's for a similar (maybe slightly worse) player on a very cheap contract.

Hyman might work.

Doubt there's any incentive for Tampa to make that deal.

Except Hyman is pacing 30 goal seasons , so no that evaluation is way off, I see it being difficult to shed the all the 5 million NTCs but very possible, Calgary would have interest in Tyler Johnson, Johnsson himself would be easily moved. Basically Cernak could be had via OS for a second round pick, wouldn't Tampa value a middle 6 player at 3.4 and a 4th more valuable than a single 2nd?

That's a pretty good evaluation of this ACGM. Also why should a guy like Tyler Johnson be squeezed out? I'm sure these players ask these questions as well.

I'm interested in seeing how they deal with all the NMC/NTC this summer.

They could move Point for a king's Ransom if need be, but that only allows them to sign Sergichev, they'd still have Ciereli, Cernak, plus others I can't think of, having killorn, Johnson, Palat, and Gourds all making 5 million each even if they move Point they'd still need to move at least 2 of them

The NTC is the issue.

My point is that Cernak would be moved for a cheap player, not somebody with a high cap hit. Why move him for Johnsson just to flip Johnsson? I know Hyman has more value. TB can add there, but that's the type of player they'd want. It could make some sense to have them be after Hyman too, given he is expiring.

Looking at the Tampa need of a lower priced player and the OS value of a 2nd pick I would suggest RHD Liljegren and his 2 years of $863,333 ELC left would fit the bill nicely as a 3rd pair dman with a high ceiling. Tampa also gets younger. Leafs maybe add a draft pick.
