Just a cool idea nobodies tried
but what if Drouin-Mckinnon-Ehlers
All 3 former Moosehead but they never played together at the same time as Ehlers didnt arrive until Mckinnon was in the NHL
Drouin/Ehlers were by far more dominant together then Drouin/Mckinnon were .
Drouin(L)-Mckinnon(R)-Ehlers(L) giving them the ability to cycle Mckinnon 1 timers from both sides of the ice on their forehand.
Drouins averaged 50pts as top PP guy on a team without top 6 centers to the point when acquired to replace Radulov he was jammed into Center because
Galchneyuk made the coach mad showing up hungover and rumored to be drunk in the plays vs NYR in our 1st round elimination .
Ehlers has faced struggles with consistency year to year but still made 3/5 fifty+ point seasons and has potential to grow still as he's just 24
i mean even if they just play PP together i think they could be dominant to the point they all reach 90-100+ point seasons given their similar speed and size along with age they could be dominant for another 5 years if not more . Both could be acquired for a reasonable cost using Prospects and picks in a 3-4 piece deal for each player . (example: jost, grier ,and two 2nds (conditional 1st if they win cup in either year the picks taken )
