Hyman's deal is expiring. Mayfield has 3 more years of cheap control. Ross is a goon yes but somebody needs to be able to protect you guys. Don't think it's *that* far off.

And OTT is actually getting a usable player as opposed to nothing sitting on LTIR. Bailey would prob be on their top line lol

I looked at Faulk's stats (and his contract). Not pretty but he filled a big hole with Pulock gone. His defensive stats must be better than Leddy so figured it was worth the risk

We're not giving you two 1st rounder, two B-Prospect and a 2nd for Pullock AND taking one of the worst contract in the league, you're daydreaming.

The rate for dumping contract is a 1st rounder for 6M$/1 year .... You're sending me 5.5M$/3 years.
You're either stuck with this guy until his contract's up (Buyout structure is bad) or you'll be loosing a couple key pieces for someone to take it.

hyman is a legitimate 1st liner at this point and Johnston would be in the AHL. mayfield is pretty much a 5th defenseman. they could get a far better defenseman who may be more expensive but would be worth it.

they would have to actually pay bailey and he wouldnt fit there. hes locked up long term and they are rebuilding so he wouldnt help them at all
