Most of this seems unnecessary. That wont get you radulov and hutton isnt any worse then Holtby. Instead of signing Holtby and trading for radulov you could sign Hall. Even if you have to overpay him you still get a star player who will help you a whole lot more then radulov and holtby will.

On another level that defense is just awful.

Radulov hasn't been good on the Stars this year and it sounds like the organization and him want to split ways

Sorry, I was typing kinda quickly as I had to go do something, what I meant is that Holtby is a porven goltender who is better than Hutton. Holtby has proven he can summon demons and become a god level goalie at times and the caps seem to be determined to go with Samsonov. Holtby would be a great goalie to sign for a couple years and let Luukkonen develop his game in the AHL as he is currently struglling in it a bit.

I think that the defense is just fine under the proper defenisve coach, which I think the sabres need to change theres as I belive it has been the same guy threw multiple years of this teams suckitude

holtby hasnt been good for a while now. winning the cup should not be a reason to sign a goalie who isnt very good. look at martin brodeur. when you have a chance to add a player of hall's caliber you take that every chance you get. Im 100% sure one of olofsson, Skinner or Kahun could move to the right wing with little to now drop off in production. Skinner could become a goalie and his point totals wouldnt drop that much.

montour and risto are both bad by themselves, putting them together against top competition is a horrible idea. It hasnt worked out so far and it wont change. that 3rd pair is a decent 3rd pair and the 2nd pair is fine right now but playing any of those 4 big minutes is a horrible idea. they have the potential but its not there yet. If buffalo would be able to pull off a trade like the leafs did for muzzin and find a good partner for that player they would be in a very good spot. they need someone who can play the tough minutes until dahlin is ready to. someone like petry or brodin

theyve got the depth but they dont have any 1st pair defenseman yet. like I said in my last post, Risto is a below replacement level player. that means hes a negative value player. montour isnt very good either. they need some top end defenseman who will literally not get **** on every time they step on the ice

He can be very phisical, hes proven that he can be very good offensivly in the NHL as a defensemen and this year his defense has improved A TON

Hes way worse then ceci defensively. His xGA is horrible and so is his corsi meaning he gets caved in whenever hes on the ice. He isnt that good offensively either. He takes a bunch of low percentage shots and hes been extremely lucky. McCabe has been a way better defenseman this season
