I don't see anything wrong with this post however, I see something wrong with you

They can't willingly keep someone on LTIR if they are cleared to play. I know people will want to refer to the Lupul treatment, but he was in fact incapable of actually playing, even after receiving a second opinion. If they sign Pietrangelo, there's no room for Dermott on this team, and Johnsson likely would need to get traded as the cap will probably not be 88mil.

Johnsson will be ready to play at the start of next season (assuming his recovery is on track) so you can't LTIR him. I think trading him and Dermott for picks to flip for a Dman (or directly trade for Dman if they can get a deal) will be beneficial. Neither has a future in Toronto and the Leafs would save about 6 million which they would be spending on a 3rd line winger and a bottom-pair Dman (not to mention Dermott will have to play his off side)

Also, don't expect the cap to go all they way to 88. I think 85 is the best-case scenario.

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I put Johnsson on LTIR to remove his cap hit rather than going through the process of trading him. I expect he gets traded. I wasnt trying to bury him there.
