CHI's up against the cap even with the increased. It's assumed that Strome's going to want a big jump like Debrincat got, but CHI has a guy that's ready for the #2C. This contract negotiation is going to be tricky, but Stan can't give away the store. He needs to be frugal with Strome's contract specifically. He took Strome's career out of the graveyard known as Tuscon/AZ...and he should be leaning on that hard. So what's an appropriate term/amount? Then what's his trade value? Weigh those two options.

Joki and Kahun are players Stan traded away. I think the CHI fan base would turn on him if all of a sudden he traded for them back... in another losing trade. So, I don't think those two are options. The 1st definitely could be an option. Montour could be an option. Stan would need to have Ian Mitchell signed before that trade. They already have a backlog of Dmen.

Are we positive that Bowman is going to be there in June?

100% positive...NO, but I think he'll be there. He's made too many good moves this past offseason to get fired. Drafting Dach was a W for Bowman, Trading a 5th for Kubalik, signing Lehner and Carpenter. The Joki Nylander trade wasn't great, but Nylander hasn't been terrible. He's no Joki, but heck compare this negative to the positive for Kubalik...Bowman's still winning.

I'm not buying the rumor that Bowman's the reason the Lehner/Gus to CAR for the 1st/Bean didn't pan out. It just doesn't make sense because Bowman would be 100% bluffing and everyone including CAR would have known it.
