don't think the rangers are really ready to give up on Lias. I know he requested the trade and all, but JD was just put in place this past summer-- and I see him being able to slightly mend the relationship. NYR didn't treat Lias well, he deserved more of an opportunity (especially after training camp). Throw in DQ's comments where "we aren't going to keep one of our good young guys to play the forth line" then playing him on the fourth line and that doesn't help. As you can probably tell I'm still pissed that DQ gave such rope to Howden (and still does) when he didn't give any to Lias. This summer I wanted the KZB line to stay intact and was more interested to see what Panarin could bring out of Lias (like PLD in columbus).
It took him a few games to get back up to speed after a lengthy absence, but he has 5 goals and 2 assists in his last five games to put his totals up to 9 points in 11 games in the SHL (probably the best league outside NHL and KHL).
