I think the Montreal trade is overpayment. That Chicago pick is gonna be #38 overall most likely and depending how second half of first round goes you might still get first round talent there.

What does TBL need? From Chicago I imagine Beaudin or Regula are part of the deal going to TBL but idk what roster players you may need. Hawks prospect depth is low since they’re all on the team now.

@Hockeytor15 Habs give you Petry for Serg and a 4th cuz it seems like you have a weak right side

I think the idea behind moving Sergachev isn't to upgrade the right side, it's to cut costs given the teams cap issues.

Petry for one season doesn't come close to the same value as Sergachev, and the Lightning won't be able to extend him. As we just saw, Brisebois is happy to overpay for players, but they're cheap guys with term.

That Montreal deal would be fair if the 2nd is from STL ngl, since that Chicago 2nd is almost a first.

He's not close to Serge and I'm not a fan of either team (maybe in 2 years).

Yesterday another NYR fan was telling me Fox was already better than Morgan Rielly.

Is Fox in the Norris conversation this year? What's the deal?

As a Devils fan, if we can swap out Bratt for another one of our forward prospects then I would do that trade in a heartbeat. Because we will have essentially received Sergachev and Nolan Foote for Blake Coleman, Will Butcher and a mid prospect. I still might do it even with Bratt in the trade.

Ya, he's the real deal. A few rookie mistakes here n there but once he's polished, 1yr max, he'll be right up there. Big with all the tools and already looks like a stud. He's already better than Serg, who will be good, warts n all. Rielly is maxed out, as a really good d.

Serg isn't moving, these threads are funny. Tampa knows he's a vital piece of the future on d and for a team looking to win now and in the near future, trading one of the better young d in the game for picks and prospects isn't happening. He's also superior to Fox right now, maybe Fox passes him, maybe not, but right now Serg is definitely the better defenseman.
