Supposedly he refused to sign with LA. Blake got what he could. Anyone that says they thought this guy would get 30 goals is a liar. No one thought that. A lot of people bash Blake but I don’t think he’s done that bad. People bash Lombardi too, bad trades, bad first round picks blah blah blah. Fact is 2 cups under him! I’ll take it. Give Blake a chance. He came in at the tail end of a good team, he tried a last ditch effort of signing Kovalchuk to salvage that team and now he’s moved on to rebuild this team. Kovi cost nothing to sign! I’d much rather that then trading assets to salvage a bad team!! I can say just the difference from this year compared to last year is staggering. I know we are still at the bottom but I could sit thru games this year and enjoy them feel like we have a chance!! Last year was so bad I could barely sit thru an entire game! I have absolutely 0 problems with Lombardi. He is the main reason we have 2 Stanley Cups. I know you are a Blake fan, but you have to look at him more in depth. He had 0 GM experience when he was hired, he hired the worst head coach in Flyers history(Stevens) because he was " A hockey fan and a good friend " (See press conference) he then fired him a little over 1 season later because he finally realized he sucks. Then hired Willie D (another horrible coach) finally replaced him with a DECENT one in Todd, but he'll only be good for the rebuild. Would you like to talk about the Toffoli trade? Giving up a guy that helped us win a cup in 14 that will get 50-60+ points this year for that stupid return while takings salary back that we were just going to put on waivers? Toffoli would have gotten 50 points this year ON THE KINGS. He should have also traded Lewis, Hutton, and Ryan, but he didn't. He could have signed Kubalik if he really wanted to. Do you really believe that guy didn't want to sign in LA but was itching to sign with Blackhawks AS SOON AS HE WAS TRADED. Kings and Blackhawks have been almost equally bad for 3 years now.

Hey man I totally respect your opinion! I agree with a lot of what you say but also have my own opinion on some stuff! I can tell your a passionate Kings guy as am I! I’ve been watching this team since before Gretzky was even a thought here! But I’m looking at it from our future! And I can’t ever remember a time when the kings have been so loaded with young talent!!! And Blake has had a lot to do with that!! Am I a Blake fan? I wouldn’t say that! Am I willing to give the guy a few years before I chop his head off? Yeah I am! I have always said one of the hardest jobs in sports is taking over a team that was great that is now struggling! He came in at a hard time in my opinion! But when I look at the stockpile of young guys we got coming it really excites me! Is Blake perfect absolutely not but find me a GM that is!
