Saw some similar team builds, so I was curious to see how MTL has faired at the draft.

Included are all the current active NHL/AHL players. (Some fringe AHL players are not included)
Excluded are the players who have moved on to other leagues (Scherbak, Andrighetto, etc.) or busts (*cough* Leblanc...)
Included in the scratches-column is the 2019 draft class, in the IR-column is the 2018 class, and in the LTIR-column is the 2017 class. (I did not include older draft classes)

The oldest still active MTL drafted player is Hainsey (2000), Halak (2003), Price (2005).

The recent years seem really strong, with the recent prospect pool. Some years were definite wins (2007), some years were quite poor, or lacking in the number of draft picks (2008, 2009).

If the aim is to get roughly 2-3 NHL/AHL players per draft class, then MTL seems pretty average. There are good years, but a definite lack of SKILLED players making it through, there's a lot of middle to lower 6 players.

Also, for some unexplained reason, there are so many defensemen drafted?

Would be curious on opinions from other fanbases
