Description
BUF gets Domi to play either beside Eichel or behind him

MTL gets #8 OA draft giving them a 2nd top 10 pick in a draft with talent we could use soon.

MTL recieves the #9OA pick (as per this site's Draft Board)

MTL drafts #8 OA RD Jamie Drysdale
MTL drafts #9 OA G Yaroslav Askarov (highest ranked Goalie since Vasilevskiy )

MTL balances their Depth Dcore giving their RD some top talent to develop to replace Weber and Petry in the future .

MTL gains a Goalie who will stay in Russia and develop 2-3 years minimum as he's still super young only turning 18 just before the draft and would benefit from the minutes he'll get in the KHL.

Before everyone Freaks out Price and Primeau will have 4-5 years by the time all is said and done.
1 of the 2 by then will be gone and the other will spend his last few years before UFA training the heir to the throne .

Basically its like what we did between Roy and Price
Primeau is basically Theodore on Roids
Askarov if developed right will enter the NHL ready to play big minutes and hopefully dominate the NHL.

Domi being moved works for both sides as he gets a bigger role on a team deep with assets that only has 10 roster players signed through next year and 47m seemingly in a position to make a deal with Domi positioning him in their new core .

MTL gets the chance to address their RD issues as past Injured Juulsen its Fleury as our top prospect with Brook who's has a horrible rookie year but started finding success the past month. basically all project players or are in need of special treatment . Drysdale is guy who could earn a roster spot for 2021-22 after Petry's likely gonna leave as a UFA for top dollar he's no doubt earned.

Alzner trade gets done before camp based solely on how both teams D look at camp but both players are approached about the deal in the summer when asked for their list or in Jensens case just go ask him if he speaks french then subtly hint maybe he should consider it hahaha

    Détails additionnels:
    Alzner @ 3.6m over remaining 2 years
He's played well since being called up and to be honest never fit our system. Our GM needed to make a move for LD and Russel just snubbed us for EDM a week before after a promising interview process . (word was MB walked away over paying russel 4m playing hard ball like with Radulov and it back fired)

Alzner is paying the price for that.
although he isnt what he once was on a team that isnt defined by speeding and Everyone shooting volume because of the lack of Ovechkins he's just out of place.

Why would MTL does that trade with BUF? With this pick, you hope the guy you draft will have the same sort of impact as Domi... Thats really bad

You say “talent we could use soon” and then draft a guy you won’t see for 5 years? Wouldn’t you rather take Holtz/Raymond and Lundell/Perfetti? Basically bpa but if you believe in Primeau why not take two guys who can help you compete 1-2 years from now. Would mesh better with Romanov/Suzuki/Poehling/Caufield timelines

    that's a fools bet
Every Draft for the past 3 years someone jumps from the 10th-20thOA to top 10
Last year DET took Seider almost 10 spots ahead of Projection at #6 OA over higher projected D Brobger and Soderstrom
The year before Hayton and Kravtsov were both ranked 10-20OA and both jumped into the top ten 8-10 spots ahead of projection
The year before that Liljgren was ranked top 10 all year long with Nolan Patrick with both losing their favorite status to other players in Hischier and Makar

Every draft has a story like this with EVERY and i EVERY Draft being based on Teams needs period .
If a team need a RD and the top 10 is 1 RD , 1 LD and 8 Centers its almost guaranteed someone will jump the rankings .

    Would you rather Carey Price
or Would you rather Benoit Pouliot or Gilbert Brule based on the same logic ?

I mean Price took longer but he's still here and they're nobodies doing nothing .

QUALITY Matters and that's what you're passing up .
Especially when Drysdale's as close to the NHL today as Suzuki was last year
Soon doesnt mean now it means by definition in the near future

Domi's done what for us again ?
    Playoffs ? nope
    Consistent Production ? nope
    Wins Faceoffs? Nope

i'm confused about what you're on about
we're taking a guy who's value was so low an alcoholic on his 4th team in 3 years with no trade value went 1v1 for Domi

Why ? Domi's goes 3 seasons between good productive years .
what do i mean ? his previous 2 seasons before MTL he scored 9 goals total of which 4 were empty net goals .

We've tricked our Fanbase and those in the NHL into believing he's worth a fortune so we can finally get the return we shoulda got from Chucky.
But another joke of a season like this year signed to a contract as horrible as Price's will make him worthless again as he's trending down
